So I have been a bit slack…. wanna fight about it?
Well, its time once again for me to put finger to keyboard and write another post to my blog; to keep you abreast of the latest news from the centre of the world. I’m tired, its been a long day and tomorrow I fly to ‘Nam, so this post is going to be short and sweet
Since my last post….
Work life has been interesting – I think its safe to say I’ve successfully popped out the otherside of the new job blues – you know, when you’re still green and no one really knows what to do with you? Like when the Internet first came out and no-one really knew what to do with it, sure it was great, but until people found out that you could use the Internet for porn, it was kind of a sleeping giant – well I hope that’s what it will be like for me, except with less porn……
As for the working hours, I have finally setlled into the whole 9am till 7pm routine. Sounds bad at first, but I guess during the day its a pretty flexible work day. No boss breathing down your neck – unless you need to deliver something – and you can pretty much wander off for a coffee/burger/BreadTalk snack/Coffee/Muffin/Smoko (none for me thanks) whenever you want – its very grown up
Social life is getting back on track… Dad was here a couple of weeks back. He checked out my new place, taught me a thing or two about Singapore and life – what do you know? I actually had a great time with him and it was sad to see him leave, you kind of get used to having a familiar face around the house. Other than Dad’s visit, I’ve been hanging out quite a bit with some friends I have made at work. Getting into a bit of a routine which is something I have missed since leaving Sydney. I miss ‘the Boyz’ heaps and everyone else for that matter – but luckily enough, I ended up getting a MySpace site and revamped my FaceBook profile (THANKS EMILY!) so now I’m in touch with most of you on a daily basis
Love life has had its trials and tribulations of late. Em and I are still going strong despite a slight change in plans. The design industry tracked her down and locked their crosshairs on her fine little self – suffice to say she has landed a job with a respectful company in the heart of Sydney – I couldn’t be more proud of her. So with that, Em and I are working hard to lock in some solid dates of when she will visit Singers (as it is affectionately known) and when I will come down to Sydney. Unfortunately, contrary to what I was told during the recruitment period – I have not yet had a company funded trip home and it doesnt look like it will happen until after July at least…. if it happens at all.
Home life has been great. I have really gelled with the flatmates and we all have our own little routines now which kinda fit neatly around one another. I’m hardly home, but if I am, I’m in my room on the phone or in the kitchen cooking up a storm
Life in Asia has its drawbacks. Considering I’m about 1.5 times taller than the average Singaporean/Malay male, I am finding it extremely hard to find anything that fits my height, let along my girth and, apparently, ‘massive’ shoulders – if I’m having trouble finding clothes, how the hell is William even Asian??
On the up-side though I am travelling to Ho Chi Minh City, VIETNAM tomorrow (for the worry warts, I will be staying at The Liberty 2 Hotel)! I will only be there for 3 days, which means I fly back on Sunday afternoon. I cannot wait for this trip, I am very excited. Now this trip isn’t to party hardy, its to take in the scenery and appreciate what Asia has to offer. I think back to the beginning of last year thinking ‘Oh God.. Asia, how the heck will I survive’ – but believe it or not, I am actually pretty excited to be in a position to discover more of what it has to offer. And (how good is this!!!) when I get back from this trip I can actually throw some credibility behind the phrase “Back in Nam…..”!
Aussie life has been tricky. I am missing everyone alot. Especially my Sister Nesy and Nanna Hango! Its damn tricky trying to fit in conversations with everyone in the afternoons when I get home from work. I guess everyone has their own lives to lead and the fact that I’m 2 hours behind everyone (which will be 3 hours soon enough) doesn’t really help when I get home at 7pm Sing time (thats 9pm Syd time for those of you who failed year 6). I guess the best way to keep in touch is through email or SMS coz no matter what I will always end up replying sooner or later!
Techno life has seen another addition to the family. In my last post I had acquired the wall-mounted Samsung 32′ LCD TV. Well this time I have got myself a nifty little Sony PSP. I was skeptical at first but now I’m freakin addicted. I have been playing Virtua Tennis, Grand Theft Auto and Ridge Racer practically every night – as an undiscolsed friend had ‘lent’ me several games which I now have permanent access to. Oh and it has WiFi (for the nerds out there) so I can blog/check my email/keep up to date with SMH.com.au wherever I am in the house – now THATS exciting!

Health has been okay. I am eating well, eating a lot more fruit and veg than I used to, so it has helped the fact that I am a desk jockey and not getting anywhere near enough exercise. I think if I don’t start soon I will literally feel like a latex pillow or even worse – memory foam.. how embarrassing… I have, however, been contemplating joining the gym across the road which work PAYS FOR, but yes – I have been lazy – I promise next week will be the week I start to work out the guns
Also thinking of starting Muay Thai Boxing with a few guys from work – Makadonski would love this one – maybe I can challenge him to a cage fight when I get back to Syd – ha!
Anyway, time for an episode of Family Guy and then off to bed. Take care for now, I hope everyone is well – update me dammit!

yeah i dont know what happened to willy – um….he looks like an ASHHHHHHHHHHHIAN but man, that height aint normal – maybe he’s a half cast! hehehe
OH and Cage Fighting You VS Makadonski…WOOOHOOOO THAT i would pay to see – bring it on!!!
miss u too robbie!!! xoxo
